However, one of Kempe’s stirred some debate as it was unclear if Oilers’ goalkeeper Jane Campbell’s glove had crossed the line or whether it was a wrong call by the referees. It was also one of those rare games where even the Oilers’ powerplay was a huge upset. Besides, this Kings’ Brendan Lemieux and Oilers’ Klim Kostin also got involved in a physical fight, and the referees had to rip the two away from each other before things turned serious.

Nonetheless, while the Kings played extremely well, rivals Oilers failed to deliver their usual performance.

Here is how NHL fans reacted to this dramatic game

Oilers fans are deeply hurt by this loss and have questioned the team’s future this season: “Oilers TEAM DEFENSE is EMBARASSING”

“What a shambles of a defense !!!….will they even make the playoff ….big changes needed ASAP !!”

While some were upset about Campbell not being credited for his “controversial” save: “I’m mainly mad about campbell getting robbed on such a beauty of a save today..”

“Oilers D is nonexistent. Great effort by their goalies, Soups looks awesome, that glove save was robbed by the refs.”

While some seem to have enjoyed the fight: “Every game needs hits and fights like this one”

But in the end, it was a fruitful and joyous day for Kings fans. As well as, many people appreciated Fiala’s performance: “Crazy fun game tonight lots of physicality and Kings are looking stronger and stronger. Our second line is amazing and Fiala is a godsend he’s fit in so well”
