Wayne Gretzky is a legend of his game, Ice hockey. And hence, many may assume that his eldest daughter Paulina likes it too. Although Paulina is not an ice hockey player like her father, she has always been around the rink to support her iconic father. And seems like baby Paulin loved the ice.

Once during an interview, Gretzky shared an adorable story, revealing Paulina’s first adventure on the ice. And what her parents did next will leave everyone amused.

In 1989, a newly-become father Gretzky had featured on the Arsenio Hall Show, where he discussed various things from his professional and personal life. During their chat, the host asked “The Great One” if Paulina had learned to skate.

To this, a proud Gretzky replied, “Well, I had her on the ice one day, and she was so excited about being out there, you know, we’ve got skates for her but just haven’t had the chance to cause she can’t walk yet.”

Gretzky’s reply had the audience and the host in a fit of laughter as they adored the wholesome story. The legendary hockey player also added, “My wife keeps saying we’re gonna put her into a hockey league.” But Paulina didn’t end up in any hockey league and instead pursued acting like her mother.

When Gretzky’s alternate career plan didn’t go well

In another talk show, Gretzky revealed that back in the 80’s he had hosted a ‘Saturday Night Live’ show. However, besides hosting, the ice hockey legend also tried his luck at acting in an SNL sketch. The act required Gretzky to sing a song, which he used to practice at home.

However, his practice didn’t go well for his daughter Paulina. Gretzky jokingly revealed, “I was singing to my daughter at that time was three months old and I probably ruined her childhood.” Gretzky was not actually planning to make a career in acting but ended up giving Paulina nightmares with his singing.

The NHL GOAT stuck to the ice rink throughout his career, and his daughter Paulina was always present for his special moments. However, wonder if Paulina learned ice skating before taking her first step, as her parents ended up buying the gear a little too early for her.
