Thursday night ended with a joyful celebration from the LSU Tigers. The gymnasts in purple leotards defeated a trio of opponents to earn their 10th entry in the NCAA Gymnastics Championships’ final. Whereas Amari Drayton, Savannah Schoenherr, and Haleigh Bryant played their part to hoist the purple flag in Fort Worth last night, Olivia Dunne met with her cheerleading role from the fence line.

The LSU senior held her breath throughout the evening, praying for her compatriots’ victory. As Livvy and her teammates burst into celebrations after the victory, the moment was framed by LSU’s official cameraman. Those merry moments went into Olivia Dunne’s latest Instagram post. However, not without a rejoinder. The social media queen did not approve of the snap of her ‘nail-biting’ moment amid the celebrations. Therefore, she pointed out. “BFFR w that third pic.”

Contrasting to that presence, in other snaps, she can be seen sharing the celebration color, barring any nonchalance. Livvy’s bff Savannah Schoenherr and Haleigh Bryant actively participated in the celebration that touched their feet after a hasty gymnastic season. As Tigers’ HC Jay Clark had wanted from them, the gymnasts again gave a concerted effort to snatch the victory from opponents like California this evening.

Olivia Dunne’s compatriots hunt in pair

Despite Olivia Dunne’s absence in the floor exercise this evening, the rest of the Tiger Ladies propelled themselves suitably to lift the competition. Furthermore, while keeping the average at 9.9, the pack of Amari Drayton and KJ Johnson anchored the victory by posting the highest score in floor exercise this evening. The squad battling in the beam schedule did not remain much behind.

Olivia’s bestie Savannah Schoenherr gifted her career high 9.925 in the schedule. She was paired well with Kiya Johnson and Sierra Ballard to take things higher. However, in the rotation, the Californian squad earned the upper hand after the first turn. That even came after Savannah Schoenherr and Haleigh Bryant’s hearty effort to keep things unreachable.

So on that estimate, in the comeback as well, Haleigh Bryant kept things normal by putting 9.925 on the scoreboard. Schoenherr’s 9.8625 proved to be enough to propel the LSU Tigers to the top position, leaving everyone in awe. That was reflected in Jay Clark’s words.

“We’re obviously thrilled to be back in the finals again for the second year in a row. It never gets old to advance to this point. I’m proud of how this team has done all year long.” He also pointed out that “just doing it for each other and staying focused on the bigger picture” is what propelled LSU to this height. It remains to be seen if the squad continues to do that in the all-important final as well.
