It seems like the USA can’t get uniform controversies behind. After fans and athletes expressed their vehement disappointment over Team USA’s track and field outfits, it looks like another chaos is about to ensue. The USA has big plans for the Paris 2024 and is bringing in stalwart figures from the fashion world to make their fit memorable. But fans just can’t get on board with the country’s apex body’s decisions.

“Sexist” track and field uniforms caused massive havoc among the community, and now, more trouble awaits the USA’s Olympics plans. With the Olympics ahead, you’d think the sporting world would have a different primary focus right now. But from the looks of things, fans can’t help but clamor about the clothes that will adorn these stars while they represent the country at the quadrennial event.

A new fiasco lurking in the shadows?
In a recent post on X by the official NBC Olympics & Paralympics account, Team USA’s closing ceremony dresses for the Paris Olympics’ closing ceremony have come to light. “What Team USA will be wearing for the Closing Ceremony of the #ParisOlympics and #ParisParalympics,” reads the caption of the post as the accompanying photos show USA athletes showing off the designs made by the iconic Ralph Lauren.

While this isn’t the first time that Lauren has helped create the uniform for the USA national team, this is probably the first time the brand is faced with such flak for its creation. According to the company, the uniform’s design, “draws inspiration from the dynamic and vibrant host city.”

However, fans aren’t entirely convinced about the thought process that went behind in the making of the jerseys.

However, the dress looks somewhat similar to NASCAR pit crews, and fans are losing it. “Those are hideous,” said one fan page, who obviously can’t shut out the thoughts of viewing the uniforms that look more in place for NASCAR pits than at the Olympics.

Emily is also flabbergasted as to why would Team USA choose clothing that is evidently more suited for the winter. In recent weeks, all of Europe has been suffering from unprecedented heat, and her comment, “why do they make them wear such warm clothing to a summer olympics” reflects the mass perception.

Another fan also thinks that Ralph Lauren might be losing its touch. He felt that Ralph Lauren, as a brainchild and a fashion mastermind, didn’t do full justice to the designs by quipping – “Idk about this. Ralph had them sharp some years back but this is giving NASCAR,” opined the fan about the new dresses.

Martin, on the other hand, seems to have his own agenda amidst all the cacophony. “MAKE MOTORSPORT AN OLYMPIC EVENT,” vents the fan, who we aren’t sure whether likes the new jerseys or is appalled by them.

Another fan also seems to have a pressing question that needs to be answered ASAP! The fan, also named Emily, thinks Ralph Lauren might have chanced upon a secret stash of clothes that were surplus from the previous Winter Games. “ are these leftover winter olympic outfits??” asks the evidently baffled fan.
