While Timothee Chalamet’s height is 5 feet 10 inches, Duplantis stands at 5 feet 11 inches. Fans have also found noticeable similar facial features between the two. But Swedish track sensation Armand Mondo Duplantis is an emerging legend in the field of pole vault. The world has been left in awe as they are witnessing the continuous ascent of Duplantis. Last Saturday, in the Diamond League season-opening meet in Xiamen, China, Mondo Duplantis broke his own record. In September 2023, at the Diamond League final in Eugene, he cleared 6.23 meters, and in 2024 he broke the record by clearing 6.24 meters. 

Duplantis dynasty’s family legacy in the athletic realm 

This journey of winning medals and titles all began in his early childhood days. And it all runs in his veins. Belonging from an athletic family, Duplantis was born into this. His father was a former pole vaulter and also holds a personal record of 5.80 meters. Greg Duplantis, the father of Mondo Duplantis is thus rightfully the coach of the rising star. His mother, Helena Duplantis, who belongs from Sweden too was a former volleyball player and a heptathlete. 

Mondo Duplantis’ brothers Andreas and Antoine also took up sports. Andreas is already a pole vaulter following the footsteps of their father. While Antoine takes an interest in baseball. Their sister, Johanna too is an athlete. Mondo Duplantis’ journey to Olympic glory and to being a global crush is indeed electrifying.
