

The longest reigning monarch in British history, Queen Elizabeth II, took her last breath on September 8th in Balmoral Castle, Scotland. She was 96 at the time of her demise. Known for her simplicity and elegance, people from across the globe extended their condolences and tributes reminiscing her and her contributions. In light of this, a resurfaced video brought to memory an Olympics secret the Queen kept from her royal family.

In a classic display of exuberance of the Queen during the 2012 Olympics, the monarch gave a grand surprise entry leaving everyone awestruck. The video clip has gone viral and has amassed more than 8,76,000 views since the announcement of the Queen’s demise.
Her Majesty makes a never-before-seen entry to the Olympics
For the third time after 1908 and 1948, London hosted the Olympics in 2010, which made London the only city in the world to hold three Olympics. The milestone was marked by another historic moment. Her majesty’s entry to the stadium is an act that stands unbeatable to date. Also, it was kept a secret from the royal family until the inaugural day.

The video features Daniel Craig, the James Bond lead, escorting Her Majesty to the helipad. They ascend the chopper painted in the British flag and fly through the prime locations of the city including London Bridge. People are seen waving flags and cheering. That’s not all. The actual surprise was what happened next.
I think Queen Elizabeth had a great sense of humour and she was a good sport. She proved this when she made her grand entrance to the London 2012 Olympics alongside Daniel Craig as James Bond.

As the chopper approached the stadium, James Bond slid the door of the chopper open. The Queen apparently jumped from the helicopter and parachutes. She is followed by James Bond while the Bond theme music was playing in the background.
With magnificent lights and epic music, the Queen entered the stadium and took her seat in the gallery. Significantly, the whole act was kept under wraps. Well, no one questioned the queen.

Is UK Government bidding to host the games again?
Although the UK is eyeing hosting one of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, it is set to plan it outside London. With the intent to spread the opportunity across the UK, the government considers planning the 2040 Olympics in other major cities. Hosting major sporting events is a great way to support job growth, encourage the sports community, and aid in the development of interest in sports.

UK Government is also commissioning UK Sport to oversee the prospect of bringing major sporting events to the UK. London 2012 helped develop an area in the East of London that had not seen growth since World War II. The exact cost is estimated as high as $13.5 billion.

The Queen always extended her support to organize such massive events for the benefit of her people and the nation. The UK could host another Olympics but no one could beat the grand entry.
