Multi-talented teenager Sky Brown won’t allow geographical distance to postpone her daring ambitions in the realms of skateboarding and surfing. The British extraordinaire flipped the 1984 national record at the 2021 Tokyo Games by becoming the youngest Olympic medalist. She won a bronze at the skateboarding finals, but Brown is also a surfer.

Sky Brown’s fascination with surfing began as a hobby, nurtured by her father, Stuart, who coached her on the intricacies of the sport. Her surfing legacy was forged on the waves hitting California’s Trestles Beach. However, her surf-meet-skate ambitions have hit a major snag recently owing to the large distance between the two competition venues and the limited time in between. Will Sky Brown’s crammed skateboarding calendar affect her ability to compete in the surfing events?

Speaking to The Telegraph, Sky Brown was candid about her concerns about the logistics and her overarching purpose. She said, “I’ve thought about it…It’s not going to be easy, but I’d love to go to Tahiti. I’m always up for a challenge. I’m going to try my best to go for gold for Team GB”.

Her former Olympic appearance in 2021 was a mere precursor to her multisport adventures that followed suit. Sky Brown’s skateboarding prowess is pretty much unmatched in her age group and will be on full display at the upcoming Games. However, Brown’s surfing skills are still shrouded in mystery and have yet to hit the world stage.

Sky Brown’s ambitions are a result of her father’s guidance. She said, “He’s my coach, he helps me with everything.
