Recently, the official Olympics Instagram account shared a video that showcased a group of extraordinary young skateboarders who have defied expectations and secured their spots in the upcoming World Championships finals.

This video features the girls who have already qualified, all of them took part in the qualifiers earlier this year and have secured a place to compete at WST Rome.

A Glimpse into the Rising Stars of Skateboarding
The video shared by Olympics features 14 years old Akama Rizu of Japan, who topped the qualifiers, 15 years old Raysa Leal from Brazil who placed second, Nishiya Momiji from Japan, youngest of them all 12 years old Chloe Covell from Australia, and Onodera Ginwoo, also from Japan. Notably, two of them Nishiya Momiji and Laysa Leal have already won medals in the Tokyo Olympics, setting the stage for an exciting and promising future in skateboarding.

These young women shows off their flawless moves and skills in the video. The video has a caption that says “These rising stars are all under 16, and all made the world championships finals earlier this year! Who are you hoping to see top the podium at WST: Rome 2023?.” Which implies these youngsters are preparing for the championships in Rome and this competition will also be their ticket to the upcoming Olympics.

The World Championships
The World Championships in skateboarding are set to take place in Rome this month, where these exceptional young women will compete on a global stage, representing their countries with pride. This street skateboarding championship event will start from June 18th and the top skateboarders from around the world will hustle to fix their spots in the Paris Olympics next year. In the women’s division the pre-seeded stars are Raysa Leal, Nishiya Momiji, Nakaya Funa, Chloe Covell, and Akama Rizu which means they will skip the Open Qualifier.
