Skateboarding legends Tony Hawk and Jason Ellis are among the two most popular and admired personalities in the skateboarding community. The renowned skateboarders have come full circle and started a podcast, Hawk vs. Wolf. The duo sits with a new guest each time and discusses various topics, including skateboarding. In episode #85, Hawk and Ellis sat with Hollywood actor Seth Rogen. During their conversation, Ellis brought up an ‘anti-graffiti’ PSA Hawk did in the 90s. It didn’t turn out well for Hawk, as his co-host and Rogen grilled him for it.

Throughout his storied career, Tony Hawk has revolutionized skateboarding with never before seen stunts. Besides being the first person to land the first ‘900’, Hawk has won numerous medals. Jason Ellis is a legend in his own right, holding the Guinness World Record for the biggest drop on a skateboard. Since graffiti is also part of skateboarding culture, Ellis didn’t hold back despite everything Hawk has done for the skating community.

During the podcast, Ellis said people keep sending him clips of Tony Hawk talking about “how bad graffiti is.” Ellis tried to mimic how Hawk sounded in the video. While the skateboarding legend didn’t seem phased, to begin with, he couldn’t contain his astonishment when Rogen said he had also seen the clip. “Oh my god!” exclaimed Hawk as he tried to explain the situation.

Hawk then started to apologize for doing the PSA. “I hereby denounce the PSA I apologize to any of the street artists I have offended,” said Hawk. According to Hawk, renowned filmmaker, and pro skateboarder Stacy Peralta had told him to do the PSA. He respected Peralta and couldn’t deny his request. “Yeah so you’re saying Stacy Peralta’s fault?” said Ellis. To which Hawk replied, “I blame Stacy.”

However, Ellis didn’t stop grilling his co-host. He suggested that Hawk invite the “greatest street artist” to his podcast and apologize. Seeing his opportunity, Seth Rogen added that Hawk should apologize to everyone. “One by one! that’d be a good podcast. Tony Hawk apologizes to street artists.” However, Tony Hawk suggested an alternative inspired by the acclaimed HBO show, Game of Thrones. “We should just do the ‘Walk of Shame’ like Game of Thrones, where they (street artists) just spray me,” said Hawk.

The skateboarding legend also suggested he made his amends to street artists since they drew the graffiti featured in the Tony Hawk Pro Skater video game series. While Ellis and Rogen grilled the skateboarding legend, they didn’t take it too seriously and had a laugh throughout the discussion. Have you seen the clip? Let us know in the comments.
