From a nuisance on the streets to a full-fledged Olympic sport, skateboarding has come a long way since its inception. The American sport that took birth on the streets of Los Angeles in the 1950s, is extremely popular now, after its debut event at the Tokyo Olympics. Tony Hawk, one of the pioneers of the sport, with his bizarre moves on the skateboard, pushed many skateboarders to go out and pursue this endeavor for a living. One of his signature styles, among many, was skating down the stairs with his board, while occasionally flipping it in the air. Reversing his style, a certain skateboarder was spotted doing the entire opposite of Hawk.

He skated up the stairs or pulled a ‘reverse firecracker’, unlike Tony Hawk

Skating down the stairs is a pretty common stunt that skateboarders often try out. Mastered by Tony Hawk, this stunt became popular among skateboarders who were looking to express themselves in myriad ways. While skating has been done on various types of surfaces (horizontal loops, sidewalks, etc), skating down the long steps of a stair, is still considered to be quite cool.

The particularly cool stunt is also called ‘Firecracker’. It requires balancing on the back while running down each stair, instead of jumping all the way down. However, this particular person used his skateboard to do the reverse firecracker. While skating down a pathway, he suddenly takes a turn to his right and jumps up one stair, and then continues doing it until he is all the way up. Sportbibles shared the video with the caption, “He skated up stairs” with a surprised emoji with it. Everyone in the comments section had a similarly surprised reaction.
