However, on July 6, 2023, the figure skating world was once again rendered in shock as Sotnikova admitted to positive doping charges.

According to the sources, the revelation is that Sotnikova publicly admitted to testing positive for doping during the 2014 Winter Olympics. She disclosed the initial positive test result but claimed subsequent tests showed no issues, resulting in no penalties imposed.
