Lindsey Vonn is a well-known American alpine skier. Overall, she has won four World Cup titles including – the Audi Alpine Ski World Cup, three Downhill, two Super-G, and one Combined title. Vonn is also an Olympic gold medallist in the Downhill and bronze medallist in Super-G.

In 2009, the star skier also won two World Championships gold medals. Earlier in 2022, in an interview, Vonn expressed, how in her opinion, a fellow American athlete has never got the fame she deserves.

In January 2022, Vonn was answering questions for an interview with Entertainment Weekly. For one of the questions, Vonn was asked – an athlete people should know about more? Without a doubt in her mind, Vonn was quick to mention Allyson Felix‘s name.

She said that even though Felix had become more known due to her record-breaking feat at the Tokyo Olympics. She added that the sprinter is yet to get the attention she deserves. “Allyson Felix, you know since she broke the record of having the most Summer Olympics medals in history, I think she’s gotten more attention. But she deserves so much more she is such an inspirational person,” the skier replied.

During her career, the retired sprinter had fought various obstacles to reach great heights. Felix was also a key person, who had forced Nike to change their maternal policy. The sprinter had accused the well-known organization of not guaranteeing salary protection for female athletes during pregnancy and demanded a change.

Hence, Vonn felt that Felix’s inspirational story and activism for female athletes should be known by more people.

Felix is a retired track and field athlete and competed in 100m, 200m, and 400m races. With six gold medals in team relays and one in an individual event, Felix is the first female track and field athlete to win seven Olympic gold medals.
