American Athlete Who Left for China Announces Return to Olympics Before Paris 2024

The Olympics is the grandest stage and holds an esteemed presence in the sports industry. Thousands of athletes have taken on the path to prove their mettle in this prestigious event. As the 2024 Olympics draws to a close, several renowned athletes have announced their participation. One of these renowned names is an American athlete who left for China earlier.

Eileen Gu was born in the United States and later competed in China in 2019. Eileen became the youngest Olympic Champion in freestyle skiing at the age of 18 during the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing. After being announced as the Gangwon ambassador, the 20-year-old skier has now salubriously announced her return to the Olympics.

Eileen uploaded an Instagram story confirming her participation in the 2024 Olympics. She reshared the Olympics’ story where the 20-year-old’s name was announced. “Say hello to 2x Olympic and 2x Youth Olympic Champion and @gangwon2024 ambassador.”, the Olympics wrote. Confirming the same, Eileen added a few ‘⚡‘ emojis to express her excitement and up the ante, so to speak.

Competing in halfpipe, slopestyle, and big air events since 2019, Eileen Gu has achieved remarkable accolades over the years. After jumping ship to team China, Eileen went on to become the first freestyle skier to win three medals at a single Winter Olympics. The 2022 Freestyle Olympic Skiing champion will now be returning to the grand stage in the 2024 Olympics, looking to add more myriad medals to her tally.

Eileen has had a phenomenal career till now and was named the third-highest-paid athlete in the world in 2022 by Forbes. While the Chinese skier will look to win several more Olympic medals, it recently announced her as the ambassador of Gangwon 2024, a feat that is supremely commendable for someone so young and multipotentialite like her.

Eileen Gu is truly a paragon of inspiration, and her achievements were duly acknowledged recently by the Winter Youth Olympics. She was announced as the brand ambassador of the Gangwon 2024. “China’s freestyle skiing champion will serve as a role model and inspire young athletes, while actively promoting @gangwon2024 to a global audience “, IOC media announced.

Winter Youth Olympics focuses on increasing the participation of youth in sports activities. With an aim of reaching higher audiences, the organization will be looking to capitalize on Gu’s popularity. The event is scheduled for January 19 and will have athletes aged between 15 to 18 compete in a fierce, cutthroat race.
