American Skier Who Left to Represent China Put on the Spot

The Olympics has stood as the grandest stage for athletes at the helm since time immemorial, and the success at this esteemed event is a true indictment to the sportsperson’s abilities. With only a few months left for the Paris Olympics 2024, the preparations are in full flow, and so are the American-born skiing sensation Eileen Gu’s, who left to represent China in 2019. Meanwhile, she was recently put on a real test by the Olympics social media team.

After creating history at the 2022 Winter Olympics, Eileen Gu is all set to further strengthen her legacy at the 2024 Olympics. But before that, she had to answer some ‘really tough’ questions from the inquisitive social media team who were vying to pick her brain regarding food, Olympics and many more.

Eileen Gu faces ‘tough’ questions

In the latest post uploaded by the Olympics, the video featured the American-born skier Eileen Gu, who was put on the spot with some tough choices to make. “We played ‘this or that’ with Eileen Gu!”, the post captioned. The first choice she had to make was between ‘Shopping in South Korea’ and ‘Eating in South Korea’. The 20-year-old was left choiceless with the ‘impossible’ to choose options. However, she eventually chose later, revealing her love for South Korean dishes.

Speaking of Korean epicurean delicacies, Eileen soon faced another toughie between ‘Korean Barbecue’ and ‘Bibimbap’, which again is a Korean rice dish. “Uh, that’s also really tough’, the double Olympic champion exclaimed. She eventually chose Korean barbecue, taking less  time to shoot an answer. And a sport related question was also posed before her as well, which she answered with equal cadence. The 2024 Gangwon 2024 ambassador chose ‘Figure Skating’ over ‘Curling’ as the last question.

Eileen Gu christened as Olympic’s Gangwon 2024 ambassador

Earlier last month, Eileen Gu was announced as the global ambassador for Gangwon 2024. The campaign was launched to raise awareness about child obesity and the stark and acute paucity of the dropping participation of youth in sports activities. Given Eileen’s illustrious skiing achievements at a young age, she stood as the perfect upholder of the campaign, skillfully using her business acumen to make a difference in the grassroots.

The 20-year-old later expressed her jubilation over the announcement, which has also been an important aspect in her rise to the top of the freestyle skiing charts.It is an honour to be named Global Ambassador for the Winter YOG Gangwon 2024”, she expressed. As the Paris Olympics 2024 draws to a deafening close, Eileen hopes to add more accolades to her name.
