In her 18-year-long career, Von has gained great success becoming the four-time World Cup overall championships winner. Moreover, the 38-year-old dedicated her go-getter attitude to her mother in a recent interview.

In a podcast interview with Red Bull on 2 March 2023, Vonn talked about the ups and downs that she faced in her career. Above all her career highlights, she made sure to pick herself up. Nevertheless, the legendary skier stated that she learned it from the strongest person in her life.

Lindsey Vonn credits her mother for her athletic attitude

During an interview with Red Bull, Vonn expressed that when she has her mind set on something, she does not stop until it is achieved. The retired skier wills to sacrifice everything and work harder than others to achieve her goals. Nevertheless, this spirit in Vonn was ingrained in her by her later mother Linda Krohn.

She expressed in the interview, “It comes I think mainly from my mother. She was the strongest I knew and this was never a question of whether I would work hard or whether I would pick myself back up. It’s just something that is ingrained in me from her.”

Vonn’s mother was indeed very tough. In one of her interviews, the skier revealed that Linda experienced a stroked when she gave birth to her. Vonn saw her mother dealing with many medical complications while growing up. However, Linda always taught Lindsey to overcome anything no matter the situation.

Being with Vonn throughout her career, Linda was her source of strength. Sadly, in 2022, Linda passed away after a year’s battle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). Vonn paid a heartfelt tribute to her mother by writing a book.

Lindsey Vonn expressed her love for her mother

After announcing the unfortunate news about her mother’s loss, Vonn revealed that she was writing a book named, Rise: My Story as a tribute to Linda Krohn. In an Instagram post, she expressed how her mother raised her into a perpetually positive person.

Moreover, with every problem she faced in life, she found a different perspective and inspiration from her mom. She added in her post, “I am so grateful for every moment I had with her but I am also thankful that she is no longer suffering and in peace.
