Rodeo is one of the most dangerous sports in the world. Riding atop a 1500-2000 lbs bull for more than eight seconds to record a score is not a feat for the faint-hearted. In fact, one study suggested that almost 20 out of 100,000 bull riders can expect a deadly or life-altering injury during their career. While in football, this number is less than 1 in 100,000. Most bull riding injuries occur when the bull stomps on a rider’s back or chest after flinging them to the ground. Recently, legendary snowboarder Shaun White also attended a rodeo event, and his reactions were one to watch.

After retiring last year, the Olympian has been engaged with a lot of things. From his business ventures to social commitments, Shaun White has his hands full. But his latest social media update shows the legendary snowboarder left stunned by a bull after making an appearance at a rodeo event.

Shaun White recently took to his Instagram and uploaded a couple of stories. He first showcased some pictures with his cousin in Texas and accompanied the pictures with the caption, “Got a special visitor this weekend. Thanks @texaschristianuniversity for giving us cousin time.” White followed this with another story that showcased him in a cowboy pose. His latest Instagram story displayed a bull inside a rodeo arena. White was stunned by the angry stance of the bull and said, “He’s so mad,” while referring to the bull.

While White was recording the angry bull, his cousin was recording his expressions, which she later uploaded on her own Instagram story. Her video, which shows a spell bounded White, was accompanied by the caption, “I think it’s time to change careers…” Shaun White’s appearance at the rodeo event shows that he admires a number of sports apart from snowboarding. In fact, in the past, he has also participated in and won medals in skateboarding at the Summer X Games. But a sports person’s career also includes injuries and White has had his fair share with one of his most gruesome injuries occurring in 2017.

Back in 2017, just months before the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympic Games, Shaun White ended up with 62 stitches. While practicing in New Zealand on a new trick, the 3x Olympic gold medalist flew almost 22 feet before landing on his face. White had to endure 62 gnarly stitches and also some bruising on his lungs. According to an NBC report, White had said, “I’ve fallen that way a million times. It’s kind of a perfect situation where I hit right on my lip and split my lip open. … I was bleeding a lot.”
