33-Year-Old USWNT Legend Once Admitted Unconditional Pampering Family Let Her Forget Her Age

Alex Morgan is a professional soccer player and a veteran member of the United States Women’s National Team (USWNT). Morgan is also a two-time Olympic medalist and further a two-time World Cup winner.

The champion player is one of the most famous athletes in the country and also an inspiration to many kids. Currently, the 33-year-old veteran is in the company of many young players, who make her feel not-so-old.

Alex Morgan feels she is 23-year-old, not 33

Post her pregnancy in 2020, Morgan is back with the USWNT and featured in many friendly and international games. Morgan, who turned 33 on July 2nd, has been training with very young and new USWNT teammates since the Tokyo Olympics.

During an interview with the Washington Post, talking about the next-generation players, Morgan said, “They keep me young. So much youthfulness. Sometimes I forget my age. I’m like: ‘Okay, you’re not 23; you’re 33. You have to act like you’re 33.’”

The current USWNT team consists of experienced and young players. However, coach Vlatko Andonovski has been including many young players in each camp.

Players like Ashley Hatch, Sophia Smith, Trinity Rodman, Alana Cook, and many others are some of the young talents included in this star-studded US team.

Morgan’s unstoppable 2022 NWSL season

2022 has been ‘Morgan’s year’ in terms of soccer stats. After moving to a new NWSL expansion club, San Diego Wave FC, the forward has been invincible. As of October 2022, Morgan scored 15 goals and two assists in 17 games in her club’s inaugural season.

This was also Morgan’s career-best figure since joining the league in 2013. After ending on the top of the goal-scoring sheet, the star forward received the NWSL Golden Boot for her achievements. The season also saw Morgan’s 50th regular season goal, making her only the fifth NWSL player to reach this milestone.
