On September 3rd, Shaun White, the five-time Olympian, had his birthday. The athlete celebrated his 37th birthday for a week, and that was nothing short of memorable. Instead of hitting the slopes, White chose to spend his day catching waves. He was surrounded by his friends and his girlfriend, Nina Dobrev for the whole week.

Shaun White, well known as ‘The Flying Tomato’, embraced his newly found passion during retirement. ‘The Vampire Diaries” actress released a video montage of White and her. It showcased some of the precious moments they spent together. She captioned it with, “Happy belated birthday, Sugar, How you got so fly.” It was surely a celebration filled with love, laughter, and joyful moments. 

With three Olympic Gold medals in Halfpipe snowboarding under his belt, it is clear that White is a master in his field. And it looks like now he is carving up waves, showing his enthusiasm for surfing. His aquatic adventures took place at the exclusive Surf Ranch, opened by the legendary surfer Kelly Slater in California. Kelly Slater’s Surf Ranch is known for its cutting-edge artificial wave technology. It provides the perfect setting for White to explore his new hobby. With that, we too wish the athlete a very Happy belated birthday and hope he never fails to pursue experiences, both on and off the water.

Growing up in the southeastern region of Australia, specifically in Melbourne and later on Philip Island, Chris Hesmsworth’s first passion has always been surfing. Before Shaun White’s transition from snowboarding to surfing, Hemsworth and his brothers were enthusiastic surfers. They were often referred to as “grommets” in the surfing community.

In a recent interview featured in GQ, Hemsworth talked about various aspects of his life as a surfer, much like Shaun White’s transition to a new adventure. The interview begins with a scene where Hemsworth is acquiring a new surfboard.  While on the other hand, White is sharing his exhilarating experience riding the waves.

Hemsworth didn’t specify the type of surfboard he preferred, but he did express a desire for vibrant and psychedelic artwork. Even during his busy filming schedule, Hemsworth is committed to finding time for his beloved hobby—surfing.  Aa an example of Hemsworth’s dedication is his commitment during the filming of “Extraction 2” in Prague, making regular trips to Hossegor, France, every other weekend to ride the waves.

Surfing Acted as a Therapy for both Hemsworth and White

Hemsworth views surfing as a sanctuary for his mind. Much like how White finds joy and enthusiasm in his new surfing venture. Hemsworth remarked, “Every time I enter the water, there’s a sense of purification. If I’m grappling with inner conflicts or turmoil of any kind, it’s my go-to place. It offers a chance to reset.” Shaun White, too, juggles his new adventure with his career, as he retired from professional snowboarding.

Hemsworth’s deep fondness for surfing, just like White’s love for snowboarding, will remain constant in their life’s narrative. When asked about why he filled his garage at his Byron Bay residence with a number of surfboards. Hemsworth offered a straightforward response: “There are certainly more detrimental obsessions out there.” In essence, both Chris Hemsworth and Shaun White show a dedication to their passions—surfing and snowboarding, respectively. They will always remain the best in their respective field. It will be pretty fun for their committed audience to see how they continue to aspire to their love for surfing.
