Pennsylvania-based surfing enthusiast, Maggie Drozdowski arrived at New Jersey’s Stone Harbor beach near 109th Street for a surfing spree with her family. The 15-year-old girl went to the ocean with her sister Sarah O’Donnell and her brother.

However, when Maggie was 50 feet away from the shore, she began dangling with her surfboard, and suddenly, she felt a pinch on her foot. At first, Maggie thought it was a crab, but in a few seconds, her foot was in a big mouth. The teenager began shaking her legs forcefully as she felt chills down her spine. She knew something heavy had caught her foot. However, within five seconds, Maggie’s leg was out of the unknown creature’s mouth.

The 15-year-old received 6 stitches on her leg in the hospital. Marine wildlife experts figured from her wounds that she was bitten by a small shark. Moreover, Steve Nagiewicz, Stockton University marine science professor, analyzed the incident and shared that Maggie used the right technique shaking her legs to get rid of the shark.

Moreover, after her injury, Maggie told Fox news that she could not imagine her life without going to the ocean. She will definitely visit beaches again, but probably not this summer!
