The ‘Thor’ actor was on a family vacation when he decided to take on a surfing challenge.

Hemsworth is known for his love for adventure. His passion for extreme sports has brought him close to many athletes. He is also good friends with ace surfer Kelly Slater, and the pair were seen going for a tandem wake surf session in April. The actor has also confessed his love for surfing in an interview with GQ magazine, during which he said, “There’s a cleansing every time I get in the water”. It speaks for the cathartic experience Hemsworth derives from the sport.

With this love for surfing, the 39-year-old could not let go of the opportunity to jump on the waves surrounded by the pristine, snowclad Alps mountains. He posted a couple of clips from his surfing session at Alaïa Bay on Instagram with the caption, “Got to surf the wave pool in Switzerland with the family last week. Such an amazing trip. To be able to surf in a pool with snow cap mountains as the back drop was pretty awesome!” The clips have sent the fans of the Hollywood superstar into a frenzy, as they marveled at his skills.

The clip has over 500K likes since it was uploaded yesterday. The comments were filled with admiration for Chris Hemsworth’s impressive surfing abilities. One fan left behind a very amusing comment where they gave the actor a new title, writing, “Are you Thor, God Of Surfers?” Another fan joked that the pool must have been empty when Hemsworth was done surfing, “does the pool have any water left in after those enormous gouges you laid down on it?” Another viewer congratulated the actor for his surfing skills. “Wow it’s so Nice! You are a great Surfer! Thank’s for visit”.

One user commented that the wave pool was generating more challenging waves than the natural ones. They was surprised to see that Hemsworth had still managed to keep himself on the board. “WoW Chris those are not real they are more difficult”.
