In Portuguese, he added,  Dei tudo de mim, nao foi dessa vez! Mas agradeço a Deus por mais uma oportunidade de surfar minha onda preferida.
Obrigado a todos pela torcida e carinho de sempre. Voltaremos mais fortes 🇧🇷 prometo.”

Which in translation means, “I gave it all, not this time! But I thank God for another opportunity to surf my favorite wave [Teahupo’o]. Thank you all for your constant support and love.
