Olympic shortboard champion Carissa Moore’s retirement announcement is at the center of this widespread deploration. The announcement was no less than a seismic shock in the surfing community especially in the wake of her Paris Olympics 2024 qualification.

The Hawaiian gained an opportunity to defend her crown at the Tahiti Pro occasion of the World Surf League Championship Tour season. However, she has declared that the Paris Olympics 2024 will be her penultimate contention at the mega event.
