Speaking about what drives her, Brown said, “When I hear, ‘You can’t do it’, it puts a fire in my heart. It makes you want to prove them wrong, and prove them wrong hard. Surfing and skating, qualifying for both has been a big dream of mine, and I know that’s a big dream, but that’s what I love to do.” While the Great Britain athlete won the bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics, she didn’t want to choose between two of her loved sports this time.

The Olympian said, “I love to surf, I love to skate. To qualify for both, it is a big goal, but I believe in myself, and I’m going to try my best.” However, this will be a challenging Olympic dream to fulfill. Both surfing and skateboarding are sports where judges award points to athletes based on their judgment. Thus, Brown will have to push through for perfection, something she paid a heavy price for last time.
