3-time world surfing champion Mick Fanning was dispirited by the sudden demise of his elder brother recently. It was a devastating third loss for the Fanning family. Mick Fanning and his family had to endure the suffering after experiencing two prior losses of his real siblings, Peter Fanning (43 years), who suffered from a health condition, and Sean Fanning (20 years), who was killed in a car crash.
The greatest professional surfer of all time and Mick Fanning’s American competitor, Kelly Slater also sympathized with his fellow surfer’s loss. As much as the Fanning family has not recovered completely from their loss, Mick Fanning took to his social media to pay tribute to his beloved brother, Edward, who breathed his last at a surf camp in Madagascar.

Mourning his latest loss, Mick Fanning wrote on his Instagram, “Love you, my brother. You taught me so much over the years about everything that life could deal with. The good and the bad you were my teacher. You introduced us all to surfing, the joy and freedom of riding a wave.” He also said that Edward had been teaching young kids the joy of riding a wave and how big, a giver he was. “Always sticking up for the underdog and caring for those who needed help. You gave everyone everything you had, and if you didn’t have it you’d still give it to them.”

It stated, “We send our deepest condolences to the family at this difficult time.” There were other Mick Fanning fans too, inclusive of the surfing and other communities, who put their condolences forward, to sympathize with ‘Fanno’ (Mick Fanning).
