The appeal of the natural and wild waves in the ocean will always remain eternal. However, artificial surfing pools are catching up fast. Although it was earlier looked down upon, the dedication of Abu Dhabi and the expertise of Kelly Slater has given birth to something really special and great.

Surf Abu Dhabi is a modern marvel presenting great waves to surf to anyone who fancies them. However, the project is yet to reach its full-fledged and complete stage. But, the best surfers in the world are regularly invited over to test the pool. Interestingly, a two-time World Surfing Champion became the latest invitee to take on the waves of this beautiful project.

Testing stuff the ‘North American’ way

Filipe Toledo is a surfing icon who visited the lavish Abu Dhabi Surf pool. The Brazilian surfer took to the waters of the pool atop his trustee surfboard with his torso tattoo riding the waves along with him. Toledo took to Instagram to upload the moments of his beautiful escapade via a reel. The reel carried the caption, “Since you guys asked, here’s a bit of what went down at @surfabudhabi.” 

The waves generated in the Abu Dhabi Surf pool didn’t seem artificial and Toledo took a lot of advantage of this. Landing several spins and twists atop his surfboard, the Brazilian could be seen enjoying his surfing experience. Interestingly, American swimming legend Kelly Slater also gave a shout-out to Toledo’s post via a social media update of his own.

Surfing legend hails icon after a great display of his craft

Kelly Slater took to Instagram and uploaded a story update for his fans. Featuring the post of Filipe Toledo, the 11x World Surfing Champion wrote, “@filipetoledo doing his thing at @durfabudhabi.” The official account of Surf Abu Dhabi tagged in his story displayed more top pro surfers enjoying the waters of the pool.
