The French Surfing Federation noted that they would announce the details for the next session at 17:45 local time (Tahiti) on Tuesday. Competitors had dealt with lackluster conditions on Sunday, with the men gearing up to head to the semis. While the unfortunate breakoff certainly brought a wave of disappointment to all, especially to Team USA, who were leading the race at the collective level, safety had to come first.

Diving deeper into the reality behind the sudden postponement of the Surfing competition at Tahiti

The devilish winds and sheets of rain can stretch up to any height at any time, posing a clear red flag to the surfs. Also, the geographical nature of the spot was alone enough to send chills down the spine of anyone. The Coast of Tahiti welcomed the surfs with a horrible sight in the visiting phase. The bomb-like sound of widespread waves even terrified the pro surfer and commissioner for the World Surf League, Jessi Miley-Dyer, who said it was a very unusual experience for her to witness such a menacing beauty. While the idea of hosting the game in the Place of Skulls (popularly known) went wrong, it added that extra pinch of exhilaration and terror that the game called for.

The surf forecast is the most crucial parameter in deciding the timeline of the Paris Olympics surfing competition. The wells, size, and intensity of the wave directly impact the performance level as well as the safety factor. Now, the four-day events will certainly shift to a safer time zone. Given the official sources mentioned about the complexities on Tuesday and Wednesday, we can hope the situation to develop a bit on Thursday, in the best possible scenario.
