12 Olympic medals, 6 of which are gold, current world record holder in 200m individual medley, and all-in-all the second most decorated American swimmer after Michael Phelps – Ryan Lochte has given fans so many reasons to be proud of him. However, the 38-year-old is not done with his endeavors. He recently announced the official International Age Group Championships, which has his wife proud and excited for him.

Ryan Lochte shared about the IAGC, a swim meet like no other, in his recent Instagram post. When his wife Kayla Rae Reid found out, she couldn’t hide her excitement. She shared the post on her Instagram story and her pride for her ‘hubby’ was beaming through those words.

Kayla Rae Reid wrote on her Instagram story, “I don’t know much about swimming but I know this is going to be life changing for the young swimming community!!!” She shared the link to her husband’s post, where he explained the initiative in detail. Ryan Lochte said in his Instagram video, “So what is the IAGC? So the International Age Group Championship is truly a first-of-its-kind event that will set the bar to new heights for age group swimming. You see up until now, kids in the US have only had long course meter times to compare their accomplishments with their International competitors. This event will bring together swimmers from around the world to compete in short-course meters, instead of the US standard short-course yards”.

He made the announcement from the McAuley Aquatic Center at the Georgia Institute of Technology. This is the same venue where the swimming and diving competitions were hosted at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. Through initiatives like this, Lochte continues to impress his wife even after 5 years of togetherness.

Ryan Lochte and Reid have made themselves a perfect family

Lochte and his wife Reid have built a beautiful family together, which will only grow bigger once they have their 3rd baby this June. They were a perfect fit from the moment they met and he knew that she was the one, Lochte later revealed. They already have a 5-year-old son Kaiden and a 3-year-old daughter Liv, who will be followed by their 3rd. Interestingly enough, all their children were born in June.

Lochte believes that in order to prepare young swimmers for International competitions from a very young age, this event will be crucial. The center will provide world-class facilities and it promises entertainment throughout the venue. Here’s looking forward to what promises to be a fruitful event for young American swimmers.
