Caeleb Dressel, who with his staunch performance reached the pinnacle at Tokyo 2020 swimming, is back in the waters. After a long break, Caeleb Dressel’s return was highly anticipated. On June 28th, the athlete secured the bronze medal in the 50 m race.

The five-time gold medal winner athlete had a rough start at the beginning of his return as he secured the 29th position at his first event. But in the second race, Caeleb was able to secure a 3rd rank in the 50-meter butterfly at the US national championship. And although it was Micheal Andrew who won the race (23.11), it was Caleeb Dressel who won the hearts of fans in a video startled by a small gift presented at the podium.

Swimmer Caeleb Dressel was surprised by the reward

At the US nationals, Caeleb Dressel swimming in lane 1 grabbed the 3rd position in the finals of the 50 butterfly at the U.S. national championship. Dressel was going strong in the beginning but unfortunately lost his pace in the end. Nevertheless, the athlete showed an immaculate performance in the last few seconds and reached the wall at 23.5 seconds finishing the race after Michael Andrew (23.11) and Dare Rose (23.20), respectively.

At the podium, while receiving his bronze at the non-Olympic event, Dressel was given a chocolate, which took the athlete by surprise. In a video recently shared by Kyle Sockwell, which was captioned “Caeleb Dressel is back on the podium” has gone viral on social media, as fans point out the mere happiness on the athlete’s face while receiving the chocolate.

Besides this heartwarming interaction, many fans are also hoping to see the athlete secure a position in the world championship as this race did not get the athlete qualified. The athlete still has two more chances of participating in the championship in Japan.

Will Caeleb be able to join the? US national team for the championship?

Caeleb, after his long break, did have a rough start as he finished 29th in his 100 free with 49.49 seconds, but the athlete is getting there step by step. Although the athlete was not able to qualify for the world championship at the 50-meter US event, which he won twice in the past, The athlete still has two chances of joining the US swimming team in July for the world championship held in Fakuta, Japan. Dressel has entered the 50 freestyle and 100 fly. Other top athletes in the game, including Ryan Murphy, are hoping for the athlete to secure a position in the finals.

All in all, since the comeback, Dressel?s performance was quite impressive. After a lengthy break, the athlete was able to revive his performance quickly. Fans and the athlete’s team members are rooting for Dressel and hope to see him in Japan.
