French swimming prodigy Leon Marchand has been making waves throughout the swimming world. Last week, he was seen delivering electric finals in Fukuoka, Japan. The major reason for the hype for Marchand is his record-breaking performance, where he took over Michael Phelps’ oldest world record.

At the 2022 Worlds, Marchand scattered the previously set record by swimming 4:04:28, setting a new record to become the second fastest performance across the globe. Eventually, he became the first by breaking his own record in 2023. But, as the 2024 Paris Olympics are near, spectators are anticipating his performance at the event.

To cope with the heavy weight of expectations on his shoulders, Leon Marchand is undergoing a rigorous training schedule. Recently, Leon Marchand took it to his Twitter account and reposted Coach Bob Bowman’s image. The post comprised of an image about the various events at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Along with the post, the coach penned, “And so it begins. Happy Olympic Year! “. The 2024 is quite essential compared to other years, as it will mark the first-ever performance of Leon Marchand on the international stage. Although he has performed in various world championships, this year, he will be performing at his first Olympic Games. 

There are approximately 35 pool races in the upcoming 2024 Pairs Olympics. The major spectacle at the upcoming event is the USA and Australia’s battle for the largest number of gold medals. Although there are no estimations about who will be the winner, there are various swimming stars under the spotlight
