The Pleasure Bay of Castle Island, Massachusetts, is one of the significant hotspots for locals and tourists. But, the number of unintentional deaths in the state is constantly rising. It occurs due to the lack of people’s safety measures and their inattentive nature. One such incident again proved how an individual must care for their safety and follow all the instructions before swimming.

Such a heart-rendering incident took place again at Pleasure Bay on 15th August. A 93-year-old lady lost her precious life as she drowned on the Pleasure Bay beach. Her companion tried hard to do everything to bring her back to life, but it was too late. Even after they took her to the hospital, she did not survive, leaving people in mourning and shock.

Old lady’s death on vacation shocks everyone

The poor old lady met a tragic death due to the immense injuries on her body due to drowning. She participated in a private adult daycare program and suffered injuries that led her to death. The lady went into the water with her two friends with strict instructions to stay within shallow water.

But, she went deeper and drowned while swimming. Her companions managed to rescue the lady and pulled her back to the shore. The lifeguards and her friends even performed CPR until the arrival of Boston EMS. As preliminary investigations found that she was at the adult daycare program, they took people’s responses about the incident.

Many people accused the government of not telling people about the depth of the beach. Ghassan Malik, another resident, reported, “It seems very shallow, but, actually, in the middle, it’s like three meters or nine feet and maybe even more.” He further explained, “When they get there and are surprised by how deep it is, that’s the problem.”

According to the Police Report in Massachusetts on WCVB, when the woman realized the depth of her water, she panicked and yelled for help before becoming submerged. Therefore, residents think that there should be signs there. It will help people understand the potential risks of going deeper into the beach while swimming. They also highlighted the importance of water vigilance and safety, especially for vulnerable people.

Safety Is Crucial when Swimming- A Subtle Reminder

The swimming mishaps have not spared the adults in the town. It made people realize how crucial it is to exercise caution and follow instructions while enjoying water-related activities. But, many people said that there were government and instructors mishaps since they know that the middle area is not safe for swimming. Even after knowing that, they never take any step or place a warning sign to aware people. As a result, again a summer outing of an individual turned into a horrible incident.

The state police shared their condolences to the family of the deceased lady. They continued their further investigation to prevent these incidents while promoting safety. The local people do not wish to witness any horrible incidents near Pleasure Bay. Hence, local residents are looking forward to the higher authorities taking action against water safety measures with the number of death tolls.
