In his long and illustrious career, Michael Phelps has faced all kinds of challenges from all types of swimmers around the world. The Baltimore Bullet overcame every one of those in style and went on to win 28 Olympic medals, 23 of which are gold medals. However, as per the latest updates, a unique challenge awaits Michael Phelps after a 44-year-old comedian decidedly took a shot at him and openly challenged him for a race. Renowned comedian Kevin Hart, also famous for films like ‘Ride Along’, ‘Central Intelligence’, etc, recently shared a video from his pool, where he completed a butterfly swim and proved to Phelps that he is up for a race against him. The Olympian then responded to him.

Kevin Hart finally shows Michael Phelps what he is capable of

Kevin Hart recently took to his Instagram and shared a video of him swimming the butterfly in his straight, narrow pool. He wrote, “This message is for you @m_phelps00 …..I’m on yo a*s and I’m coming for all of those gold medals. Give me a 2 lap head start and I will kick yo a*s man!!!!!” The comedian left his signature mark at the end by cracking a sarcastic joke.

Hart was speaking in the video, “You thought I had fins on last time I was doing the butterfly and I did. But you don’t think I’m capable of a real butterfly, I’m gonna show you…” and then he did show him. Hart completed a full lap of the pool doing butterfly, and he did not use any unfair means this time around.

Phelps responded to it by writing, “I see you finally took the damn fins off. Let’s do this”. He left a few smiling emojis after the comment. But the origin of this hilarious challenge goes two years back when Phelps accused Hart of using external means and he was right.

The time Phelps’ hawk-eyed observation caught Hart cheating

The context of using fins while swimming goes back to 2021, just ahead of the Tokyo Olympics 2020. Kevin Hart and famous rapper Snoop Dogg did a segment where they introduced various nations, in their own hilarious style, upon their entry into the main Olympic stage. As Michael Phelps talked to them in one segment, Hart showed him his swimming prowess by saying, “Can we show Mike a clip of lil Black Aquaman in the water, please?” Upon watching the clip, Phelps had no doubts that Hart was wearing fins and swimming.

As soon as Phelps caught him out, Snoop Dogg couldn’t hold his laughter in. Soon, everybody broke out in laughter. However, it looked like Kevin Hart had taken it seriously, and now, two years later, he has finally improved to show Phelps that he can really swim. Hart has a habit of throwing challenges to world-class athletes, as he did to Floyd Mayweather once. The heavyweight boxer just gave a two-word response to Hart in return. Phelps, however, wrote a whole sentence and is ready to race Kevin Hart.
