Michael Phelps, the most decorated swimmer, is a typical family man. Giving a glimpse of the kind of quality time he plans to spend with his three sons, Phelps posted a story on his Instagram. The story also proved that swimming isn’t the only sport Phelps is interested in or keeps tabs on. Despite being a busy person, Phelps has made sure to make time for his kids and be actively present in their childhood.

Michael Phelps shares his excitement

Swimming GOAT, Michael Phelps recently posted a story on his Instagram. The story featured Phelps holding the book “Basketball dreams” in his hands. Written by the NBA All-Star Chris Paul, the book is illustrated by Courtney Lovett.

Through his caption, Phelps thanked the basketball player for the book and shared how excited he was to read it to his kids. Phelps wrote, “Thx @cp3!! Can’t wait to read to the kids!!” Phelps reading a book about someone chasing their basketball dreams to his children yet again shows how open the legendary swimmer is to the idea of his kids pursuing a sport other than swimming.

While Phelps is open to his kids pursuing whatever they wish to, there is one sport he has a slight bias for. But contrary to what one might assume, that sport is not swimming.

If Phelps was a greedy dad

In an interview in 2021, the Baltimore Bullet revealed that he doesn’t want his kids to follow in his footsteps. The mere idea of his sons competing in the Olympics frightens the 23x Olympics gold medalist.

However, when the choice came down to choosing one sport, the swimming champ chose golf. His answer wasn’t a total surprise for the fans considering that Phelps is an avid golf fan. Revealing his bias for the sport, Phelps said that if he would’ve been a “greedy dad” he would want to see any one of his sons on the “leaders board at the Masters or a Sunday of major.”
