11 Years After Performing With Hailey Bieber, Swimming Star Cody Simpson Hints at an Undisclosed Project

Known for his versatility, excelling in multiple domains, be it swimming, singing, or acting, Cody Simpson has notched it all. Simpson had reportedly put his music career on hold in 2020, with a promising vision for his athletic profession. Pursuing his long-term goal of qualifying for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Simpson has also simultaneously dropped a major hint about his musical journey.

And, it involves dropping something secretive pertaining to his well-known song, which indeed captured the reins of popular iconography and music verve. “On My Mind,” released way back in 2011 alongside Hailey Bieber, was a chart topping hit, and now he superseded boundaries with a musical throwback on board, which is still a clandestine project. Simpson seems to hearken back at his music skills.

Taking to his official Instagram account, Cody Simpson posted an audiovisual clip from the popular refrain of his song, “On My Mind.” Simpson captioned it as, “5 days, #OnMyMindForever.” Through the post, it seems that he is dropping a remix in five days. The project details are still not officially disclosed, with major announcements yet to come soon. Simpson also posted it on his story, writing, “You asked for it, 5 days.”

Directed by Travis Kopach, the song also features the established model Hailey Bieber, appearing to be Simpson’s love interest in the musical video. Simpson’s song captures the whirlwind of emotions related to infatuation. Blending pop and R&B music, its catchy tune is difficult to miss. His infectious and youthful musical pizazz made it a pop sensation.

And now more than a decade later, Simpson has catapulted the attention of fans, who enthusiastically await the remix. Fans have flooded the comments section, triggered by the sense of nostalgia. They are thrilled, as one of them commented, “this gives me major throwback to high school.” Indeed!

Simpson is more charged than ever towards the Olympics. The former pop star had also remarked during an interview about his music career amidst Olympics preparation, I’ll be ready to go back to [music] it when I’m done swimming.” Despite not being in touch with his musical aspirations in the past four years, he is pleased with his fan’s consistent support.

Simpson took to his IG story to pen a heartfelt message. He wrote,All the love from my fans right now is amazing and overwhelming.” It’s an emotional touchpoint that, “lots of you are still around and supporting me.” He further adds, “I’m really looking forward to the day that I can tour and see all of your faces again.”
