28-time Olympic medalist Michael Phelps is the most decorated Olympian in history. However, swimming isn’t the only sport the Baltimore Bullet excels at, as Phelps is also good at golf. For years, the Olympian has played golf at an amateur level. In February 2023, Phelps won the WHOOP’s Shot at Glory at the WM Phoenix Open. Spanish star golfer John Rahm has been Phelps’s constant companion through his golfing journey. The 10-time PGA Tour winner has taught Phelps a lot about golf, and after his latest win at the Augusta Masters, Phelps feels elated for his friend.

John Rahm has had a stellar 2023 so far. After winning the Sentry Tournament of Champions and the American Express tournament, the Spaniard has won his first PGA Augusta Masters Tournament. Rahm climbed to the top of the rankings with his massive win, and Phelps couldn’t help but congratulate his golf buddy on social media.

The most decorated Olympian took to Instagram to congratulate the Masters champion. Phelps shared a PGA Tour post and gave a three-worded tribute to Rahm. Michael Phelps wrote in his Instagram story“LFG @JohnRahm!!!” For those unfamiliar with internet lingo, “LFG” is the abbreviation of the phrase, “Let’s f***ing go.” However, this isn’t the only time Michael Phelps has shown such excitement after Rahm won a tournament. The Baltimore Bullet had a similar message for the Spanish golfing star when he won the Genesis Invitational. Rahm also has nothing but praise for the swimmer.

In August 2021, shortly before participating in the BMW Championships, Rahm spoke about his friendship with the most decorated Olympian. While speaking to the media, he said the Baltimore native was “a great guy.” Rahm also said, “As an athlete he’s somebody to look up to very easily.”

“When you’re the greatest Olympian of all time, you definitely have a couple tricks up your sleeve, a couple good moments of wisdom,” added the star golfer. While he didn’t disclose how Michael Phelps had helped him, Rahm said the Flying Fish “has helped me a lot.”
