Lately, after his retirement, his interest has shifted to Golf. The American’s comeback at the Rio Olympics after hitting the lowest phase in his life has motivated a lot of people.

Phelps’ incredible comeback set an example before the world that overcoming adversity is certainly possible, even under so much public scrutiny. Recently, he teamed up with former world number one golfer Jordan Spieth and the CEO of Under Armour in a pro-am event at the BMW Championships.

Michael Phelps inspires this legendary golfer

Phelps has revealed his underlying love for golf in multiple interviews. The former Olympic gold medalist plays golf very frequently and participates in several celebrity invitational events. After retiring from swimming, Phelps keeps his competitive spirit alive through golf.

When Jordan Spieth and Phelps teamed up for the event, Jordan revealed that Phelps was an asset on the Golf course. Phelps’ advocacy for mental health inspired Jordan as well as his contemporaries. Spieth said, “He’s getting very involved in mental health, and it’s been something that I’ve worked on a lot in the last few years.” According to Jordan, mental health should be talked about a lot more among athletes.
