In the world of swimming, Michael Phelps needs no introduction. Phelps is the most decorated Olympian ever. He holds 28 Olympic medals, of which 23 are gold. To date, no one can match Phelps’ statistics. Nobody comes close to Phelps’s level of glory and titles. Despite having an illustrious career, it wasn’t always easy for him. His parents divorced when he was a kid. It was really hard for Phelps to get through it. He got serious about the sport after joining the North Baltimore Aquatic Club.

Michael Phelps got married to Nicole Johnson on June 13, 2016. It was indeed a big day, even in the sports community. There were a lot of guests at the wedding, as it was a big event. But the most important guest among them was none other than their son.

Boomer Phelps, the first son of Michael Phelps was just a few months old when he witnessed the wedding of his parents. Boomer also had an important role in the wedding.

Nicole Phelps said, “We put [the ring] in one of those little net bags that you have for fine jewelry.” She continued, “We got one that matches his [Burberry] outfit, and we put that around his wrist, and he was carried down the aisle by [friend and gold medal swimmer] Allison [Schmitt], our roommate.”

Boomer Phelps was the ring bearer on the auspicious occasion. Despite being so young, he did his job perfectly!

The bond between Michael Phelps and his son is very strong. Back in the 2016 Rio Olympics, Phelps revealed a special possession of his which he carried with him to the finals every time.

Phelps shared how he had his son Boomer’s footprint is there in one of his shoes that he always wears to finals. When Phelps looked at his son’s footprint, he got overwhelmed.

His first child witnessing his last Olympic game made Phelps emotional. It was like a dream come true for Phelps!
