What makes this marathon swim even more stunning is that he is doing it for kids in Michigan. He is looking to raise approximately $12,000 for the Holland Aquatic Center, which provides swimming lessons to kids. According to him, when kids are living in Michigan, there are inevitable chances of them being around the water, and it can be dangerous sometimes. So this swim will help him raise a significant amount to help these kids with the free swimming lessons.

This is nothing new for him, as he has been consistently swimming various channels and has some big swimming feats under his belt. He swam across the English Channel in October last year, which was a distance of 22 miles in 12 hours 19 minutes. Even though he has never attempted such a humongous swim before, he is confident that he will make it safely.

Huffman aims to minimize the deaths of kids that happen due to drowning in the water, as it is one of the leading causes of death for children. Not only this swim will help raise money for a cause, but it will also be an inspiration for others to donate.
