26th January felt more special for swimming star Cody Simpson. Reflecting on his journey in a profoundly moving Instagram story, Simpson went candid. Briefing about his professional struggles, the 26-year-old talked about the tough times he spent living overseas. A man of versatile talent, Simpson had to stay away from his homeland to pursue his dreams in the music industry.

Giving insights based on his experiences, Simpson talked about how he had to deal with the?“horrible, greedy” people who wished to “drag” him down. Expressing his gratitude for his motherland, the young swimmer spoke his heart out.

Cody Simpson reflects on his journey?

Sharing his heart in the Instagram story, Simpson wrote, “My life has taken me many places and has taken on many formations in my 26 years on Earth.” Narrating his struggles so far, he remarked how he has been through “high seas, calm seas, high tides, and low tides.” During the said time, Simpson remarked that he had both gained and lost. However, one thing that he did not lose is hope.

Since his debut in the music industry, Simpson has released four solo albums: Paradise, Surfers Paradise, Free, and Cody Simpson. Also, in a breakthrough, he portrayed the lead role of Dmitry in the Broadway musical Anastasia between 2018 and 2019. Talking about his time living overseas and in Hollywood,? Simpson adds how he made many “great friends.”

However, he acknowledged that during this stay, there were some unfortunate circumstances and people who he came across. According to him, they “wished to drown and suffocate me”?and intended to manipulate him. However, he persevered and came through it all “stronger, wiser, and more sure of myself.”

Simpson is happy that he is back home

Having seen the difficult life, the swimmer is now happy that he is returning to his home country, the place which he remarks to be the “salt of the earth.” Returning to his motherland, he feels “closer and more connected to it than ever.”

He now finds himself surrounded by “genuine love and selflessness.” As he is excited to start a new chapter in his life, he advises his followers to be happy. In 2022, Simson successfully made it to the Commonwealth Games squad in Birmingham. He reached the final of the 100-meter butterfly and secured gold in the 100-meter individual medley at the 2022 Short Course Championships in August. Currently, he is focusing on securing his qualification for Paris Olympics.
