Now that the Australian has laid some mind-blowing times in the pool, he is once again gearing up to make another shift. Simpson informed his 5.1 million Instagram fans that this was his last year in the Short-Course Australian Championships. Wide World of Sport reported on Simpson’s announcement that featured a snap of his medals and the words, “My second and last ever Aussie short-course champs. It’s been real” in the captions.

Cody Simpson was surprised that he could win the Championships and expressed his astonishment on Instagram. He also shared a replay of the race and wrote, “Went down to Sydney last week to race during my training season for the Short-Course Australian Champs. Was stoked to be relatively near personal best times while under training fatigue. Thought I’d share videos for my American mates who always wonder what the hell I’m doing”. Although his Short-Course Australian Championships, his Olympic journey has only just begun.

He is also looking forward to earning a berth in the World Championships after missing it last year. Beyond these competitions, he has hinted at halting his professional swimming career.
