Facing defeat on days 2, and 3 of the roster against Nic Fink, and Shaine Casas respectively, Andrew’s last stride to victory is admirable.

As the action at the first stop of the 2024 Pro Series concludes, Andrew clinched gold, defeating Santo Condorelli and Jordan Crooks, who sprinted to the second position with a tie-up.

In a recent Instagram post shared by Ricardo Peterson of Sport Science through his handle, @rpsportscience gives a detailed analysis of the sprinter timings. This includes split times and number of strokes, swimming speed (m/s), stroke frequency (cycles/min), and stroke length (m), comparing Michael Andrew, Santo Condorelli, and Jordan Crooks. Excelling at 21.87s, Andrew clocked the fastest speed.

Andrew ends his losing streak

Clinching gold, Michael Andrew made up for his previous losses at the 2024 TYR Pro Swim Series Knoxville. He faced a defeat against Nic Fink in the men’s 100m breaststroke event on Day 2, followed by enduring a staggering loss against Shaine Casas in the men’s 100m butterfly. However, things were not so bleak during the finale with his ultimate win.

Talking about it, Andrew remarked, “I feel like it was really in the last 15 meters that I hit my stride. We’ve been working on a lot of new things. I think it’s hard to come to a (TYR) Pro Series like this and not overthink, but it’s good. It’s good training and racing. I’m happy with the time, but I want to be a lot faster. I’m happy, and it’s on to the next one.”

Hence, he is not stopping anytime soon, to make his excellence known. With Paris Olympics 2024 in sight, fans have high hopes for Andrew to clinch gold.
