Michael Andrew has been in sensational form at the Swimming World Cup 2023. Currently, the swimming prodigy is leading the men’s overall individual ranking at the World Cup with 89.7 points while the American has also pocketed US$6,000 till now as prize money. He is currently leading the likes of China’s Haiyang Qin and Italy’s Thomas Ceccon, who are placed second and third respectively on the table.
After impressing fans during the Berlin leg of the competition, Michael Andrew has now been repeating similar top performances in Athens as he secured top podium finishes in a span of 20 minutes. His hot run of form continued at the men’s 50m freestyle and the 100m butterfly events in Greece.

Michael Andrew’s first podium finish in Athens came during the men’s 100m butterfly event. However, it wasn’t a standalone finish as the American had to settle for a rare second-place tie with Australia’s Cody Simpson since both athletes stopped the clock in 51.92 seconds. Soon after, Andrews participated in the men’s 50m freestyle event.

Australia’s Issac Cooper finished second with 22.07 seconds while Trinidad and Tobago’s Dylan Carter finished third in a time of 22.16 seconds.
