Bob Bowman, the legendary coach of many champion swimmers, is a father figure to the swimming G.O.A.T. Even after his retirement in 2016, Phelps and his family still share an endearing relationship with Bowman.

Recently, the Baltimore Bullet wished Bowman on his 57th birthday and shared a post on his social media. Phelps, the greatest swimmer of all time, always had only one coach throughout his career. And perhaps that created their special relationship.

Phelps was only 11 when he enrolled in Bowman’s training academy. And certainly, from then on, there’s been no looking back for him. The prodigy soon became an emerging name in the sport with the help of his coach, and the rest is history. The trainer-trainee duo never stopped supporting each other since.

Recently, the Flying Fish re-shared a post on his Instagram story to wish his family’s favorite on his birthday. “happy bday @coach_bowman (grandpa)!!”, wrote the icon. Basically, the picture is from a post on Bowman’s Instagram, where he was holding Boomer Phelps, the younger son of the legend, and wrote an adorable message, “How it started (2016) => How it?s going (2023).” And Phelps re-posted this picture to wish the old man.
