Swimming is all about growth. And, when it comes to chasing Olympic dreams, athletes are constantly on edge to seek new ways of pushing their limits. One important part of that path is training. Along similar lines, recently, two prominent American swimmers got a golden opportunity to plunge into another level of training.

The US Olympian swimmers got a training invitation from the Fairchild Air Force Base. And their recent viral video from that training is causing a splash. From aerial aquatics to rafting, the clip showcases a diverse array of activities.

Swimming from a different perspective?

It all started on September 25. And the world could see the first part on November 4, 2023. USA Swimming took to their YouTube account and surprised more than 166k subscribers. It contains a 6-minute video that features the title, “In The Lead: Airdrop & Roll | Part 1”. It showcases how 26, Zach Harting, and 29, Natalie Hinds lead new distinctive training. Both of them participated in a Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape (SERE) water survival course in Washington. The course wasn’t a typical swim practice. Rather, it was a new experience made to equip airmen from various career fields with the techniques needed to survive an emergency water landing & call for rescue.

The swimming fans get to see, Hinds and Harting talking about excitement in the opening of the video. Natalie, a bronze medalist in Tokyo Olympics, adds, “I have no idea what to expect I’ve never done something like this kind of”. On a related note, Harting adds, “This kind of the Calm before the storm if you will I’ll have a different perspective of water of myself my mental toughness after today Time”. Connecting swimming to real life

Hinds and Harting’s presence at Fairchild AFB wasn’t merely for a photo op or a casual visit. It was a deep dive into understanding the SERE mission, witnessing firsthand the meticulous preparation and training that USAF Special Warfare undergoes to handle real-life scenarios. The athletes found themselves navigating the challenges of water survival, gaining insights that went beyond the confines of the swimming pool.

19 years of experience holding specialist Harter in the middle of the video has mentioned, “We deem are high risk of isolation so these guys are going to run them through the wringer in the pools y’all are professional swimmers you’re going to be fine their ability to get into a raft and survive out there needs to happen quickly”. And the end of the video teases an excitement among viewers for part 2 with the title, “UP NEXT PART II: SURVIVE THE SCENARIO”.
