Sha’Carri Richardson finally blazed through the 200 m final at the 2023 World Athletics Championships in Budapest. She had been in impressive form coming into the tournament. Only last month, Richardson won the women’s 100m event and became the U.S. national champion in Oregon. Following this, she carried her scintillating runs in Budapest and won the women’s 100m event on August 21st.
She won the race in 10.65 seconds and stood atop the podium. With this, she not only trounced her Jamaican competitor, Shericka Jackson, but also set the 6th fastest women’s 100m time. Now, after clinching the 100m triumph, Richardson lit up the 200m event, along with Shericka Jackson and Gabby Thomas. So much so, that her alma mater and NCAA gymnast Olivia Dunne’s college has taken to their social media in support of the track star.

The tweet posted on X showcased a highlight of the women’s 200m event while a part of the caption read,?“Proud”.?Richardson had attended LSU before turning pro in 2019. While she studied at LSU, she also set a collegiate record in the 100m event, which eventually resulted in her 1st NCAA Championship.
