Track and field legend Usain Bolt may have triggered Noah Lyles with his latest comments. The fastest man of all time was asked about his world records in the 100m and the 200m category. While the former Jamaican sprinter gave a confident reply to the question, his words may not sit well with Lyles.

The 8x Olympic gold medalist recently appeared for an interview wherein he gave his opinion on when his world records will be broken. A social media post captured the words of Usain Bolt, where he gave extra emphasis on the 100m category. Bolt might’ve indirectly hit one of Noah Lyles’ nerves.

Usain Bolt explains the difficulties of 100m dash

World Athletics recently tweeted a video featuring Usain Bolt giving an interview to Inside Track. On being asked which one of his records would be broken first, Bolt said, “Not worried about none of them.” However, his next words might indirectly hit Noah Lyles.

Usain Bolt said, “ I really don’t know. I think the 100m is going to be harder because it’s quicker and if you make a mistake during the race, you’re not going to get it. So, it’s a lot more technical. So, I think maybe the 100m is going to go last.” Notably, the perfect 2023 record of Noah Lyles saw its lone blemish in the 100m category at the Prefontaine Classic. Bolt’s comment on mistakes during a 100m dash is also something that will sting Noah Lyles.

His national counterpart Christian Coleman had defeated him by just a difference of 0.02 seconds, finishing at 9.83s. Notably, this is also the personal best of Lyles which he achieved in this year’s WAC. While it’s true that Noah Lyles can get very triggered by this statement, it’s also true that he isn’t one to sit quietly. In fact, he may come up with a fitting reply to Usain Bolt in his own way.
