Before Paris Olympics 2024, Christian Coleman, Fred Kerley and More Track Sensations Looking to Set Momentum

With only a month left for the Wanda Diamond League line-up, track and field athletes are gearing up for the meet with full enthusiasm. World’s potential Olympian sprinters, including Christian Coleman, Fred Kerley, and Yohan Blake, will confront each other in the 100m sprint ahead of the Paris Olympics 2024.

While each of these 3 sprinters holds spectacular records, 2019 100m world champion Christian Coleman triumphed over Noah Lyles in Eugene in September 2023 in the last edition of the Diamond League. Now, this Shanghai/Shuzhou diamond league is set of some of the fastest men ever.

Taking to its official Twitter handle,  Wanda Diamond League shared the details of the upcoming DL meeting detail, captioning the post “STAR-STUDDED LINE-UP 🤩 These three sprinting weapons will set the stadium 🏟️ alight in China on the 27th of April 💥 🗞️ #DiamondLeague 💎 #SuzhouDL 🇨🇳”. The second Wanda Diamond League meeting of the 2024 season has been scheduled to be held on 27 April.

The world record-holder in the 60 meters, Coleman, has had a phenomenal beginning to the season. He defeated Noah Lyles, the triple world champion, to win the 60-meter title at the World Indoor Championships. Preparing for Paris,  Coleman expressed his exhilaration for the China event, “I’m looking forward to opening my season with another great performance in China and starting my Olympic campaign off on a great note.” But on this path, he is not alone.

Coleman, Kerley, and Blake Come Together in China

Christian Coleman will square off with his compatriot, Fred Kerley, who has also had a fantastic start to the season and is vying for a spot in the Olympics. Fred Kerley astonished the world with his magnificent performance at the 2022  World Championships in Eugene, clinching the title in the 100 m race.

Like Coleman, Tokyo Olympic silver medalist Fred Kerley has his focus on the upcoming event, as he stated, “2024 is a very important year with the Olympic Games taking place in Paris in August and it will be great to start my Diamond League season in China.”

The 2012 Olympic silver medalist in the 100m and 200m, Jamaica’s Yohan Blake is another star to look out for in China. “Suzhou, I will be there to run on April 27. It’s going to be my first time in Suzhou, I am looking forward! It’s going to be fun and you don’t want to miss it. Come and enjoy a wonderful show,” Blake said. Anticipation is rising with the trio who together holds four Diamond League titles.
