On the other hand, Gatlin suggested the name of Belgian runner Alexander Doom, who won the 400-meter title at the recently concluded World Athletics Indoor Championships. However, whether or not Josh Kerr and Jakob Ingebrigtsen can be slayed in a competitive event remains a riddle wrapped in mystery. The three also got candid about whether track rivalries are affecting the sport.

Is it for better or for worse

Mentioning Jakob Ingebrigtsen and Kerr’s on-track contention, Gatlin questions Martin about if such competition is beneficial for the sport and when does it began to pose challenges. To which the sports journalist replies, “I think it’s very, very good. The problem is the media leeching and I try not to go overboard because if you cover one story 50 times it just the marginal returns are significant and then it gets saturated.” He also added that, due to the aforementioned reasons, the story loses its significance and becomes more like a mockery of itself.
