Noah Lyles showcased his immense prowess at Boston Grand Prix

Lyles, known for his electrifying speed and graceful stride, captivated audiences with a breathtaking display of skill and agility on the New Balance Grand Prix track held in Boston, MA, on the 3rd and 4th of February 2024. He won the 60m sprint at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix in Boston, clocking an impressive 6.44 seconds. This remarkable feat not only secured him a win but also shattered the meeting record set 25 years ago by Maurice Greene by a hundredth of a second. He demonstrated his prowess in the heats by winning in 6.54 seconds, narrowly edging out Ronnie Baker, the 2018 world indoor bronze medalist. Fred Kerley, the 2022 world 100m champion, won his heat with a personal best time of 6.57 seconds, marking his debut in the indoor 60m race category.

The final showcased fierce competition, with Jamaica’s Ackeem Blake initially seizing the lead. However, American sprinter Lyles shattered his personal best and world-leading mark by crossing the finish line first in 6.44 seconds, showcasing a landslide victory. The New Balance Indoor Grand Prix witnessed several other outstanding performances, including Tia Jones and Grant Holloway’s. However, Lyles’ remarkable comeback after losing to Christian Coleman was more than a significant achievement.
