The record-breaking sprinter, Xavier Worthy, showcased his exceptional speed during the NFL Combine’s 40-yard dash, living up to his name with a performance that would even impress the Sprinter icon, Usain Bolt. The Texas wide receiver successfully ran the distance in an astounding 4.21 seconds, setting a new record for the event.

It even eclipsed the previous set record by John Ross III in 2017, who clocked in at 4.22 seconds. On the other hand, the Olympic champion, Usain Bolt, attempted the 40-year-old dash and finished it at 4.22 seconds, making Xavier Worthy’s achievement 0.01 seconds quicker than Usain Bolt’s. Although it is commendable that the Texas WR has such explosive speed, it is inaccurate to claim that he is as quick as Usain Bolt.

The Texas wide receiver achieved a remarkable time of 4.21 seconds for the distance. He also broke the event record for fastest time in the process. John Ross III held the previous mark, setting it in 2017 with a timing of 4.22 seconds. The Olympic champion, who also attempted the 40-yard dash, finished in 4.22 seconds. This indicates that Xavier Worthy’s time was superior to Usain Bolt’s by 0.01 seconds.

First of all, the 8 times Olympic gold medalist record holder was in sweatpants and casual clothes which made the run less competitive for him. But Worthy gave a tough fight and made it into a faster finish. Therefore, if Usain Bolt takes it seriously, one could claim that he would be considerably faster than Xavier Worthy.

Also, admirers have said that his performance without proper warmup did not reflect his full potential. So, even though Xavier Worthy has taken the lead this time, saying that he can outpace Usain Bolt is a bit stretched. Everyone must remember that Usain Bolt still has the world records for the fastest 200m (19.19 seconds) and 100m (9.58 seconds) which is still unbeaten to this day.
