The video of little Kaylani Jenae was shared by her proud mother Laura Nguyen Sison on her Instagram handle and it took the internet by storm in just a few hours. In the video, Kaylani could be spotted in a yellow jersey striding towards the finish line with confidence and aura. Little Jenae ran a sub 6 mile in 5:58.22, which is indeed a remarkable feat for an athlete, let alone an 8-year-old. 

The proud mother added how Jenae delivered such an exceptional performance and broke her previous record set just a week prior to this meet. Despite this being just the third meet for the season, she achieved an impressive milestone by completing a mile in under six minutes. She wrote, “Beyond proud is an understatement for how I feel about Kaylani. She ran phenomenal for only the third meet of the season…not only broke her record from last week but hit sub 6 min for a mile… she is on her way to the Junior Olympics this summer”.
